Sugarbomb Review

Hey guys sorry it's been a while, I go on holiday tomorrow and have had zero pennies to buy any new stuff and generally feeling quite uninspired. However I did pick up Sugarbomb by Benefit the other day and thought I would share my thoughts on this product.

Now I should explain I am a sucker for pretty packaging and love Benefit's kitch look, yet usually feel underwhelmed by the product itself. Which is what happened with Sugarbomb. After hurrying home with the product in hand I took all my make up off to try it out on a blank canvas. So with brush in hand I swirled the four colours together and swept on my cheek only to be disappointed it's very sheer, with little pigmentation, even to point where I couldn't get a picture of my swatch to show on camera.

Disappointed I tossed it in with the rest of my make up and left it. I did some thinking and remembered I went through this same heartache with Georgia many moons ago and once I got over the fact that it isn't a blush rather a pretty powder for all over the face, I loved it! So I relented and went back to investigate again, and actually it's more like a highlighter that just looks really natural on the face and I'm super excited to use this on my holiday.

Thanks for reading girlies and like I mentioned I jet off tomorrow so I'll have lot's of piccies to share when I get back and I'll have some ruddy dosh to get back into the swing of things.

Current Faves

Hello girlies, so I have been pretty much the worst blogger ever lol. I've had a nightmare couple of months with my laptop, I pretty much lost everything due to a rather annoying virus which attacked my laptop not once but twice. All is well again and I'm so excited to get blogging. I thought I would start with a current faves post as we are nearing the end of July, can you believe it, it'll be Christmas before you know it lol.

First off the infamous ST. Moriz fake tan, now I know you will all be familiar with this product but it would be impossible to do a current faves list without giving this a shout out. This is by far my favourite self tanner it's simple to use, the colour pay off is fab and there is no awful biscuit smell lol. The one draw back with this tan is that it dry's your skin out, however all you need to do is commit seriously to moisturising and problem solved lol.

Next on my hit list is Hoola by Benefit, which is by far my favourite Benefit powder. I'm a sucker for packaging and have several Benefit powders and realistically they are not great especially for the price. I would say if you want to invest in a blush then try Nars or MAC as I feel the pigmentation is generally better. However Hoola is a must, I don't use this a bronzer only really as a contour as the colour is too much for all over my face. This is an ideal contour as there is zero shimmer and pigmentation is fabulous. If you thinking of trying a Benefit powder for the first time then I would highly recommend Hoola.

Another Benefit product I am loving at the moment is Lemon Aid eye primer. Now this works well at keeping your eyeshadow in place as you would expect, however I love to use this to counter balance the redness of my eyelids. As this is a yellow based product it completely brightens my lids without feeling heavy like a concealer.

Revlon Photoready foundation in 004 nude has fast become my favourite foundation. It's not heavy or cakey and provides a really nice coverage. At the moment I'm not really wearing foundation just a bit of bronzer but I love this foundation.

Rimmel 60 seconds nail varnish in 805 Grey Matter. I love this polish so much!!! I think Rimmel's nail varnish's are great value for money. The colour range is great and the consistency is far easier to work with than Barry M and Gosh. I use this mainly on my toes at the moment, and seriously not one chip.
Finally Snob lipstick by MAC, do I need words to describe my love for this lipstick. No but here's a lil pic of me and my snobby lips lol.

Phew that was a long old post... You can tell I've been itching to get back into it properly lol.

Thanks for reading. Mwah!!!

Beauty Heroes!!!

Hello dolls, hope your having a fab week, personally my week has been pretty blah. I'm so sick of this weather, I never know what to wear in the mornings which is a nightmare, plus I've bought so many spring items and can't wear them to their full potential. Ruddy England lol.
Anyway this post is all about my personal beauty heroes. This is the celebs whose make up I die for, (a tad extreme) and definately my inspiration. I decided to make a top five I tried to keep it current as I have an obession with old movie stars which would've taken years to whittle down.

5: In at five is Khloe Khardashian, I love the Khardashian sisters but Khloe's make up is by far my favourite, I'm naturally very fair skinned so I will never do the bronzed goddess look quite as fabulously as Khloe.

4: In at four is the beautiful Zooey Deschanel, love the hair, love the clothes, love the face lol. She embraces the pale look which I always admire, as I tend to flit between pale and tan depending on my mood. She keeps is natural with a flush of blush, and a smudge of eyeliner. I think she may be on the list purely because she's beautiful and I just wish I looked like her lol.

3: In third is everybodys favourite resident of the hills, Miss Lauren Conrad. To be fair my everyday make up is very similar to that of the Conrad look. A natural base with a slick of eyeliner, it's so simple yet she never looks bad. I guess she plays it pretty safe, but hey if it ain't broke don't fix it.

2: In second place Katy Perry, who I know bares a resembelence to Zooey but the make up is very different. I'm a lover of the pin up girl look, yet am not brave enough to rock it all the way. I think because of that Katy Perry is a good compromise. She's does the pin up thing but it seems more contemporary.

1: And at number one (DRUMROLL PLEASE) is Kate Bosworth. Now Kate gets a lot of stick because she is stupidly skinny, but my love for her make up started years before that. To me she does the best natural look, she was definately the person who got me interested in make up. I used to sit and try and copy her look lol. As she got older (and skinnier) her make up as evolved and I like the way she uses bronzes and coppers around the eyes, a very catwalk look, I also love when she has a strong lip colour and fair skin. Overall she gets first place because she was my first lol, and I still have make up envy whenever I see her face.

Here's a mash up with my top 5.
